Alvor is
a quite old port town at the mouth of the
Rio Alvor. It boasts stunning views and
a natural Lagoon, the atlantic ocean is
a bit chilly at times but a haven for wildlife.
Alvor
village is interesting with
a mix of old and new but at the same
time traditional and modern.
The
cobbled streets and pretty cottages sit
between café bars and resturauntes.
The
largest beach is know as Torralta, it has
large sand dunes and is well equipped with
suitable facilities.
Alvor has
plenty of bars but only one nightclub,
so can be more popular with families and
the older generation.
Alvor is
situated about 20km east of Lagos and would
take approximately one hour from Faro airport.
